Liposuction Aftercare & Recovery

Liposuction aftercare is planned around your procedure, your current recovery and the instructions given by your surgeon. Whether your treatment was at Elixir Clinic or elsewhere, an assessment can review your incisions, swelling, comfort and healing, agree appropriate follow-up, and coordinate with your treating surgeon with your consent. New or worsening symptoms may need urgent assessment rather than a routine appointment.

Concerns it may address

  • Follow-up after liposuction or fat transfer
  • Questions about swelling, bruising or healing
  • Guidance on compression garments and recovery
  • Coordination with the surgeon who treated you

Why suitability matters

Bring details of your procedure, discharge instructions and medicines. Your clinician assesses which follow-up needs can be supported, and when your surgeon or another specialist should be involved.

What to expect

Consultation

A private discussion of your goals, history and expectations, with time for your questions.

Treatment

If suitable, your treatment is carried out according to your personalised plan, with your comfort prioritised.

Recovery & follow-up

Follow your treating team’s instructions. Seek urgent medical care for chest pain, breathing difficulty, heavy bleeding, a swollen painful leg or sudden deterioration; do not wait for a routine booking.

Potential benefits

  • An individual recovery assessment and follow-up plan
  • Practical guidance on compression, movement and wound care
  • Coordination with your treating surgeon where appropriate

Limitations

  • Support does not replace your surgeon’s care or discharge instructions
  • Healing times vary and complications cannot be prevented or excluded by routine follow-up
  • Some needs require urgent or specialist care

Risks

  • Postoperative infection, bleeding, fluid collection and blood clots need prompt medical assessment
  • Delayed escalation can worsen complications
